RESEARCH INTERESTS:

We are fundamentally interested in cellular organization and information processing.  We attempt to learn general principles about biological networks by combining genomics, proteomics, ancestral resurrection, computational analysis, synthetic biology and quantitative cell biology.  We apply these approaches to understand cell division (and how it goes wrong in cancer), the organization of the cytosol and nucleus, (and how this organization changes in response to signaling and disease, including neurodegenerative diseases) and the systems biology underlying the programming of stem-cells.
