Policy and Procedures of HCC 5B/C

Hours of Operation: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday thru Friday

Research Nurse Available: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays

Allowable Studies: Only non-acute studies will be conducted at HCC 5B/C (physical exam, questionnaires, blood drawing, specimen processing, EKG, minor diagnostics). Oral, injectable and inhaled research medications may be given only in the presence of a physician/research nurse.

Setup:

  • The study must have CTSI Resource Allocation Program (RAP) approval to use HCC 5B/C.
  • Before beginning your study, please meet with CTSI CRC Nurse Manager, Eleanor DeCandia, for orientation to the unit. This orientation will include how to submit CTSI participant encounter forms, review of available equipment, and review of procedures regarding emergency situations at HCC.  
  • Specimens to FPO labs must have a research ticket from OCT (FPO Hours of Operation: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.)

Scheduling:

  • All visits must be scheduled by calling 212-263-6411.
  • Requests should state the needed space and/or nursing and allotted time to best conduct the study. 
  • If you will be canceling a visit, please inform the CRC at least 24 hours before the scheduled visit so that other investigators may use the space.
