Section for Global Health Collaborators
NYU Langone’s Section for Global Health in the Department of Population Health collaborates with the following local and global partners to conduct research and train future leaders.
NYU School of Global Public Health
We work with the NYU School of Global Public Health to prepare undergraduate and graduate students to pioneer solutions that improve the health of populations and advance health equity around the world. We help lead training programs in cardiovascular research and in implementation science at the School of Global Public Health.
Moi University and Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital
We work with Moi University and Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in partnership with Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare (AMPATH) Kenya to implement evidence-based interventions aimed at strengthening the health system and improving population health in western Kenya. Through this partnership, we have published research on integrated care for cardiovascular risk reduction, leveraging digital health for global chronic disease management and integrating income generation with group medical visits for hypertension and diabetes.
We work with Jhpiego, an international nonprofit health organization affiliated with Johns Hopkins University, to support their global initiative on breast health that complements its decades-long programs in cervical cancer prevention (CECAP). This initiative aims to improve women’s access to quality care for breast health globally. Through this partnership, Ophira M. Ginsburg, MD, MSc , provides strong guidance and input to accelerate our current efforts, co-pursue appropriate research activities, and build our internal capacity.
