NOTE: Only available to NYU students.

Description

Medical student electives are available, by personal arrangement, in Reproductive Endocrinology. This elective includes attendance at all division conferences and attendance at Bellevue's Reproductive/Endocrinology/Infertility Clinic. The student will attend all fertility surgery cases and rounds on in-patients.

The students should master the evaluation and management of the clinical disorders of Reproductive Endocrinology. In addition, the work-up of the infertile couple will be learned and the various medical and surgical treatments of infertility including in vitro fertilization and other assisted reproductive technologies will be mastered.

Method of Evaluation

Students are evaluated by a discussion of their performance by Drs. James A Grifo, Alan S. Berkeley, Fred Licciardi, Nicole Noyes, Lisa Kump and Margaret Nachtigall with the house staff. Home school evaluation forms are submitted to the course preceptor.

Report to: New Bellevue 9E2 for brief orientation and schedule (email coordinator prior to start date to determine a time), then prearranged meeting with preceptor – email both preceptors at least 2 weeks prior to start date to determine which preceptor/location to meet with.
