Juan Francisco Aranda Gomez, PhD, Associate Research Scientist

Juan Francisco Aranda GomezI obtained my degree in Biochemistry from the Universidad de Granada and I received my PhD in Molecular Biology at the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid in Spain. My PhD project focused primarily on the functional characterization of novel “raft-associated” protein machinery involved in cell migration and inflammation.

I began my postdoctoral career in the United States, where I was involved in several projects characterizing the role of microRNAs in lipid metabolism and LDL-receptor mediated endocytosis.

I recently joined the Diabetes Research Program at NYU as an Associate Research Scientist. My current research projects include the elucidation of signaling events upon RAGE-mDIA1 interaction.
