Pararescue Medical Operations Advisory Board
This board, comprised of flight surgeons and pararescuemen, meets twice a year to review and revise guidelines for the medical protocols, training and equipment used by the U.S. Air Force’s pararescue teams. Pararescuemen, whose background includes advanced trauma training, are the most highly-trained tactical rescue specialists in the Department of Defense, and specialize in worldwide search-and-rescue operations. Dr. Stephen Rush, a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Air Force/New York Air National Guard, chairs this board. Opportunities will be available for interested residents to work with Dr. Rush in developing medical protocols in advance of Advisory Board meetings.
