Science & Technology Entry Program
The Science and Technology Entry Program is a precollege science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) program funded by New York State Education Department. Since 1986, STEP at NYU Grossman School of Medicine has promoted and provided New York City middle and high school students with access to learn about the licensed healthcare professions.
STEP Curriculum Offerings
STEP curriculum offerings include those below.
College Readiness and Mentorship
Comprehensive college readiness courses, including SAT preparation, to equip students with the skills and strategies needed for the college admissions process, along with mentoring opportunities with first-year medical students for senior high school scholars.
Foundational STEM Coursework
Rigorous foundational courses in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics designed to build mastery in core academic skills.
SHSAT Preparation for Middle School Scholars
Targeted SHSAT preparation courses for middle school students planning to apply to New York City specialized high schools, focused on strengthening math, reading comprehension, and test-taking strategies.
Applications in Medicine Coursework (AiM)
Hands-on learning experiences that help students develop research skills and explore real-world applications of science in medicine.
Future Residents in Training (FRiT)
A collaborative partnership across NYU Langone Health and NYU Grossman School of Medicine, in which medical students, house staff, and faculty introduce scholars to a range of medical specialties.
Allied Health Professions Experiential Sessions
This collaborative partnership between STEP and NYU Human Resources offers hands-on experiential learning opportunities focused on the allied health professions. It culminates in an opportunity for high school seniors to enroll in the allied health certificate programs offered at NYU Langone.

Enrichment events and workshops focused on professional development, personal growth, and exposure to careers in STEM and healthcare.
