Division of Comparative Effectiveness & Decision Science

In the Division of Comparative Effectiveness and Decision Science, part of NYU Langone Health’s Department of Population Health, we assess the likely outcomes of population health improvement strategies using innovative tools, such as longevity simulations and sophisticated computer models. We use our findings to advise and empower influential decision makers in clinical care and health policy. Our assessments draw on the disciplines of decision science, cost-effectiveness analysis, comparative effectiveness research, and metrics development. Our ultimate mission is to go beyond efforts to increase how long people live, and work to maximize their quality of life.

Our division comprises two sections, the Section on Value and Effectiveness and the Section on Tobacco, Alcohol, and Drug Use.

We also offer a master’s degree and a certificate in comparative effectiveness and implementation research.
