Elaine Meyer, MS

Elaine Meyer, MS, is the communications manager for the Department of Population Health in the NYU School of Medicine, where she collaborates with key corporate departments to develop and manage the implementation of a communications program in support of the vision and key strategic initiatives of the Department of Population Health. She works across a variety of communications vehicles including writing and editing for the web, institutional publications, leadership emails, and social media, as well as pitching stories about research, key initiatives, and events for media coverage.

Prior to joining NYU School of Medicine, Elaine worked for four years in the Columbia Mailman School of Public Health’s Department of Epidemiology as their associate director of communications, where she coordinated the department's communications efforts, including co-launching, writing, and editing for the department's public health news website the 2x2 Project, writing and editing annual reports and newsletters, and managing major email campaigns around education and research promotion, and social media.

Elaine has also worked as a reporter for the legal news website Law360, as a fellow covering education for the Carnegie and Knight Foundations' News 21 initiative, and as a paralegal at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, in Washington, DC. Elaine graduated cum laude from Northwestern University with a bachelor of arts in History and from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism with a master of science.
