For my graduate work, I studied the functions of TNF receptor family members and downstream signaling molecules in the mouse immune system. Using a knockout mouse model, we defined a novel role for the TRAIL receptor in inhibiting activation of dendritic cells and macrophages.
My current research focuses on the induction of intestinal immune responses. I am interested in understanding the regulation preventing inappropriate immune responses as well as in the role of specific dendritic cell populations in inducing and inhibiting inflammation.
