Conferences and teaching experience

Fellows are expected to attend the weekly Female Pelvic Medicine conference as well as several departmental conferences, including weekly Urology or Gynecology Grand Rounds as well as monthly FPMRS journal club. In addition, there are four urodynamic conferences per year for the Urology residents, faculty and FPMRS fellows. Fellows are expected to prepare three lectures per year to be presented at a weekly didactic teaching conference.

Teaching experience

With the guidance of Female Pelvic Medicine faculty, fellows are responsible for teaching residents and medical students on a regular basis. In the first year, fellows instruct residents and medical students in the operating room and on pre- and post-operative care. In the second year, the teaching responsibilities increase in both the operating room and the outpatient clinics, where the fellow is frequently the first resource for residents. In addition, fellows prepare and give lectures to residents and medical students during urodynamics conferences, didactic departmental conferences and FPMRS conferences. Also, fellows may coordinate residents’ and medical students’ clinical research projects in FPMRS
