NYUMC Procedural Sedation Policy Purpose
This clinical policy is intended for all patients (both in-patients and out-patients) undergoing a diagnostic or therapeutic intervention requiring sedation and pain management through a drug-induced reduction in level of consciousness and pain in order to ensure patient comfort and successfully accomplish the procedure.
