Richard L. Possemato, PhD

For his doctoral work, Dr. Possemato studied cellular models of human cell transformation under the advisement of Dr. William Hahn at Harvard Medical School. In his postdoctoral studies with Dr. David Sabatini at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research, Dr. Possemato developed genetic tools and designed culture systems to investigate the contributions of the nutrient environment on cancer cell metabolism, and described a key role for the serine biosynthesis pathway in human breast cancer. He joined the Department of Pathology in 2014.
