Mechanisms that Shape the Anatomical Patterning of the Vasculature in Zebrafish
We use the zebrafish as a model system to understand how vessels form with proper anatomy to perform their vital functions.
Areas of interest in the lab include:
- The role of axon guidance cues and their receptors, like Semaphorins and Plexins, in shaping the vasculature.
- The genetic control of brain vascularization.
- How signaling pathways and/or physiological inputs crosstalk to modulate the formation of the vascular tree.
