Cheongeun Oh, PhD

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Population Health at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and Director of the Biostatistics Shared Resource for the NYU Perlmutter Cancer Center. The goal of my research is to develop and apply rigorous statistical methods to address complex questions in clinical and translational biomedical research.

My expertise spans clinical trial design across all phases, Bayesian modeling, causal inference, and the analysis of large observational and real-world healthcare data, including electronic health records and population-based registries. I work closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams, with a particular focus on oncology, radiation oncology, neurology, orthopedics, and other data-intensive clinical domains. A central theme of my work is promoting methodological rigor, reproducibility, and integrity in biomedical research.

I am deeply committed to education and mentorship and have extensive experience teaching and directing graduate-level courses in biostatistics and clinical research methods. I have mentored doctoral, master’s, and medical trainees across disciplines and serve on multiple PhD dissertation committees within NYU’s graduate training programs. In addition to research and teaching, I provide institutional leadership in clinical trial oversight and collaborative research infrastructure.
