Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Care, and Pain Medicine
I have always been drawn to medicine due to my desire to make a tangible difference in people's lives, particularly the pediatric population. My decision to specialize in pediatric anesthesia, with a strong focus on regional anesthesia, stems from a passion for alleviating pain in the safest and most effective ways possible. The intricate nature of pediatric care requires precision and a gentle, reassuring approach, and this combination of science and empathy drives me.
My commitment to helping patients is rooted in my understanding of the immense trust families place in their medical teams. I build trust through open communication, ensuring parents and young patients understand the procedures and care plans, and always prioritizing their comfort. By taking the time to explain our approach to anesthesia and pain management, I aim to reduce the anxiety that often accompanies medical procedures, particularly in children.
In my practice, I specialize in a wide range of pediatric surgeries, focusing mainly on regional anesthesia techniques, which minimize the need for systemic pain medications. This approach is safer and promotes faster recovery and better outcomes. At our center, we offer cutting-edge techniques in regional anesthesia, such as ultrasound-guided nerve blocks, that ensure the highest levels of safety and precision. My team and I are constantly collaborating on innovative pain management strategies, tailoring our care to each child's individual needs.
In addition to my clinical practice, I am passionate about teaching the next generation of medical professionals. As the Associate Director of Medical Student Education, I am dedicated to ensuring medical students receive the highest-quality education and training in anesthesiology.
