Summary

I am a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at NYU School of Medicine, as well as a hospitalist in the Bellevue Hospital Internal Medicine group. After graduating from NYU School of Medicine, I completed my residency training at NYU/Bellevue prior to accepting my current position as an Attending Physician at Bellevue Hospital in 2013.

My first leadership appointment was Medical Director of Bellevue Hospital's Perioperative Services, a position that I held from July 2015 to July 2021. I was appointed the Associate Director of the Bellevue Hospital inpatient medicine service in May 2018 and subsequently appointed the Director of the Bellevue Hospital inpatient medicine service in April 2021. I was appointed Chair of Bellevue Hospital's Utilization Management Committee in May 2019, which helps to ensure that the care provided hospital-wide is safe, high-quality, medically necessary, and cost efficient.

Quality Improvement is the primary focus of my research efforts. I created and chair Bellevue’s High Value Care Council, which implements value-based initiatives aimed at reducing overuse and waste on the inpatient service. My research also includes QI projects aiming to improve transitions of care by targeting processes surrounding discharge planning and primary care follow up.

I am also very interested in medical education and faculty development, focusing my efforts in this realm on creating and delivering dynamic chalk-talks, developing curriculum using simulation and online modules, and in September 2022 I joined the faculty of the Education for Educators (E4E) faculty development program.
