I am an assistant professor in the Division of Precision Medicine and Optimal Aging Institute. I do research to understand why some people stay healthy as they age while others do not.
My work aims to solve for the gap between healthspan (the length of time an individual maintains good health) and lifespan (the total length of time an individual lives) by identifying how and for whom key exposures over the life course shape trajectories of health and well-being. I design observational studies that leverage causal inference and AI-based methods, combined with large cohort studies and healthcare records, to emulate hypothetical randomized trials. These studies inform individualized prediction and treatment strategies to optimize health and aging processes.
