Summary

As Assistant Director of Knowledge Management and Access, I lead initiatives in collection development, resource management, discovery systems, and licensing for our Health Sciences Library. My research focuses on optimizing access to biomedical information resources to support patient care, research, and education at NYU Langone Health.

Collection Development: I work on developing and curating diverse and comprehensive collections of resources. This involves assessing the needs of our institution, selecting relevant materials, and ensuring that our collections support the evolving needs of the NYU Langone community. By evaluating usage trends and stakeholder feedback, I aim to keep our resources current and relevant.

Resource Management and Discovery: Effective resource management is key to maintaining a streamlined and efficient library. My research includes exploring new strategies for the organization and administration of resources to maximize their utility. This involves integrating innovative technologies and systems that enhance our ability to manage large volumes of data and information. I am also involved in refining search and retrieval systems that enable users to quickly and accurately find the resources they need.

Licensing: Navigating the complexities of licensing agreements is essential to ensuring that our collections are legally compliant and accessible. I investigate and negotiate licensing agreements to secure the best terms for access to valuable resources, balancing cost with the needs of our users.

In summary, my research is dedicated to enhancing how knowledge resources are developed, managed, discovered, and licensed, ultimately supporting the broader mission of NYU Langone in research, education, and patient care. My efforts contribute to a more efficient and effective system that meets the dynamic needs of our academic and healthcare community.
