Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
I am actively involved in clinical performance improvement efforts and have contributed to several research projects at the institution. My scholarly activities include the review of study protocols, assessment of recruitment materials and procedures, verification of ethical compliance of consent documents and ultimately protecting the rights of our patients.
Recently, I co-authored a paper that proposed a novel method of assessing clinical preparedness for disasters such as COVID-19. We reported our experience using Unannounced Standardized Patients (USPs) to assess our clinical readiness for potential COVID-19 patients. Utilization of this methodology provided both quantitative and qualitative timely clinical information about readiness and safety practices.
