Ran Brosh, PhD

My research at the Institute for Systems Genetics (ISG), focuses on leveraging genome engineering to model human diseases and to investigate fundamental biological processes, including development and evolution. I am particularly interested in exploring the genome’s "dark matter"—the extensive non-coding regions such as intergenic sequences, introns, and transposable elements—and understanding their roles in development, evolution, and disease. Additionally, I am dedicated to advancing genome engineering technologies.​

As Associate and Interim Director of the Advanced Rodent Transgenics Laboratory (ART-Lab), I oversee all operations of the core lab, design and generate complex mouse models and support NYU Langone's research community by providing crucial rodent reproductive and transgenics services.
