Summary
My research at the Institute for Systems Genetics (ISG), focuses on leveraging genome engineering to model human diseases and to investigate fundamental biological processes, including development and evolution. I am particularly interested in exploring the genome’s "dark matter"—the extensive non-coding regions such as intergenic sequences, introns, and transposable elements—and understanding their roles in development, evolution, and disease. Additionally, I am dedicated to advancing genome engineering technologies.​

As Associate Director of the Rodent Genetic Engineering Laboratory (RGEL), I design and implement strategies to engineer mouse embryonic stem cells and develop complex mouse models, thereby contributing to progress in biomedical research.
