Research Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine
My research focuses on the synergistic effects of lifestyle modifications combined with medical treatment to improve disease management and outcomes, particularly in clinical trials targeting obesity and type 2 diabetes. Additionally, I aim to elucidate the impact of treatment on obesity-related health disparities. My long-term vision is to build an independent research career that integrates my background in nutritional science and molecular biology to examine how lifestyle behaviors and molecular factors influence obesity-driven metabolic health disparities. My work ultimately seeks to establish evidence-based strategies to promote equitable health outcomes.
I have made significant contributions to understanding the effects of dietary compounds, such as fish oil and whole grains, on immune function and metabolic health. Actively involved in studies on obesity and diabetes in diverse populations, I am committed to advancing health equity through precision nutrition and tailored interventions.
