Certificate Program in Ergonomics—Admission Requirement

The admissions process is designed to review the overall potential of applicants in order to determine which students will succeed in their studies.

An admission decision includes the following criteria:

  • Relevant degree (minimum level of bachelor's degree)
  • Work experience (professional, internships, or volunteer) as outlined in a CV; participants should possess at least three years of practical experience in the field of occupational safety and health or related field (risk management and loss, human resources, industrial design).
  • References (two contacts to verify the work experience)
  • Statement of purpose, including a topic for the applied methods project
  • Personal interview, if requested by the Admissions Committee
  • The GRE general test is required. Applicants may request a waiver of the GRE requirement if they hold a Master's or Doctoral degree, or if they have three or more years of relevant professional experience with a demonstrable research component. If the student chooses to later apply to the ERBI Master's program, the GRE will be required
  • The TOEFL is required of all applicants who are not native English speakers.
