Project Manager – Community Service Plan

Amy FreemanAmy Freeman, PhD, MPH, is a project manager in the Department of Population Health. Amy works on the Health + Housing Project, one of several projects supported by the Community Service Plan. Amy leads this pilot project, which is a housing-based community health worker intervention on the Lower East Side that aims to improve the health and well-being of low-income residents by addressing social determinants of health.

Most recently, Amy was a consulting epidemiologist at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene where she worked on an evaluation of Macroscope, a city-wide electronic health record surveillance system. She has also consulted on evaluation studies for the New York Academy of Medicine and the NYC LGBT Community Center. Prior to that, she was Survey Coordinator of the NYC Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NYC HANES 2013) at the CUNY School of Public Health. She recently completed an MPH in Epidemiology at CUNY SPH and has a doctorate in Geography from the University of Washington. She has conducted research with migrants in France and Morocco and is particularly interested in working to reduce health disparities in low–income and immigrant communities in NYC.
