Research Administrative Coordinator – Department of Population Health

Chris Torgersen, MBAChris Torgersen, MBA, is a Research Administrative Coordinator for the Department of Population Health. He supervises website content for the Department site and its sub-sites, and he manages data for several research studies and Departmental initiatives.

Chris came to NYULMC in 2006 from Rhode Island Hospital, where he served as data coordinator for the hospital's Substance Abuse Research Unit. At NYULMC, he initially worked for the Division of General Internal Medicine, serving in a similar capacity to his current role, before transitioning to the Department of Population Health when it began operation in 2012. In his data management role, he has worked with MS Access, REDCap, SAS, Stata, and other programs, depending on the needs of the particular study. In his website management role, he has worked in Drupal to design and maintain the Department of Population Health site and the High School Bioethics site, among others.

Chris graduated cum laude from Stony Brook University with a Bachelor of Arts in multidisciplinary studies (concentrations in music and psychology). A relatively early adopter of online education, he went on to earn an MBA through the University of Phoenix Online.
