Ultrasound Channel Data Analysis Using Advanced Analytics and Deep Learning
Through the collection and analysis of the ultrasound channel data using advanced analytics and deep learning will provide new information previously unavailable that may improve the sensitivity and specificity of ultrasound in HCC detection and in the detection/quantification of liver fat and iron and may also improve diagnostic efficacy of ultrasound in the detection of HCC and assessment of chronic liver diseases through the use of channel data. Once the utility of channel data is determined in the setting of liver disease, its applications may potentially be applied to other organ systems.

Understanding CSF Clearance in Aging and Alzheimer s Brain Through Dynamic Sodium MRI
This study aim to determine: 1) how age affects CSF production, bulk flow, and drainage in the normal brain; 2) the impact of sleep on CSF clearance in the normal aging brain; and 3) whether CSF clearance is disrupted in AD patients. This work will generate highly-desired valuable knowledge about the degeneration of CSF clearance in normal aging and disruption in AD, which will help design and determine effective interventions for and strategies to prevention of AD development.
Understanding Disease Burden in Biliary Atresia
It is our understanding that Biliary atresia (BA) can significantly affect a BA patient’s quality of life.? This study aims to assess the frequency and severity of pruritus in biliary atresia patients as determined by caregiver and provider assessments. Additionally, this study will aim to determine correlates of pruritus with clinical and laboratory parameters reflective of disease severity.
