Occupational & Industrial Orthopedic Center Education & Research
At NYU Langone Occupational and Industrial Orthopedic Center, our educational, research, and clinical and consulting programs aim to prevent and treat disabilities caused by musculoskeletal injuries and disorders. We serve industry organizations, the workforce, and the community with an interdisciplinary team approach.
In addition, our center houses the Graduate Program in Ergonomics and Biomechanics at NYU, which offers an MS program in ergonomics and biomechanics, a PhD program in ergonomics and biomechanics, and a nondegree advanced certificate program in ergonomics. Through these programs, we prepare students for academic and professional careers that help people prevent musculoskeletal disorders, injuries, and disabilities caused by environmental factors.
Our center’s clinical, biomechanical, and ergonomic research is funded by federal grants, contracts, private foundations, unions, physicians, and private and public industries.
We also offer complete medical and diagnostic services, physical therapy, pain and stress management, and ergonomic workplace evaluation and accommodation. Learn more about our clinical and consulting services.
