Division of Biostatistics

Biostatistics is a scientific discipline that generates novel approaches to research design and data analysis, with a focus on improving human health and healthcare. At NYU Langone Health’s Division of Biostatistics in the Department of Population Health, we transform data and information into scientific insights that fuel advances benefitting individual and population health around the world. We do this by creating, disseminating, and implementing innovative statistical methodologies across the entire spectrum of biomedical research, and by educating the next generation of scientists.

Biostatistics Training and Education

We offer PhD training in biostatistics through Vilcek Institute of Graduate Biomedical Sciences; postdoctoral training with individual division faculty members; biostatistics courses for second-year medical school students; and programming for fellows and junior faculty in the Clinical and Translational Science Institute–sponsored Certificate in Translational Research and online learning programs. We also arrange special lectures and workshops for departments and centers at NYU Langone.

Biostatistics Seminar Series

The Division of Biostatistics Seminar Series is held on the second Tuesday of every month from 11:00AM to 12:00PM unless otherwise announced. Please see the Division of Biostatistics calendar for more details.
