Postgraduate Year One Pharmacy Practice Residency—Manhattan

NYU Langone Health offers a one-year American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP)–accredited Pharmacy Practice Residency program. This postgraduate year 1 (PGY-1) program, which takes place at NYU Langone’s Tisch Hospital and Kimmel Pavilion, provides residents with an intensive and individualized experience with a focus in the inpatient setting. Residents receive a broad pharmacotherapy experience with rotations in adult internal medicine, critical care, infectious diseases, cardiology, emergency medicine, transplant, hematology–oncology (adult and pediatric), pediatrics, research, and pharmacy administration.

The goal of the residency is to enable residents to develop the skills necessary to provide a high level of pharmaceutical care in a variety of practice settings. Residents in our program are integral members of the medical team, collaborating on patient care, participating in medical emergencies, and providing pharmacotherapeutic and pharmacokinetic consultation. After completing the residency, you will have gained the knowledge and experience necessary to pursue PGY-2 training in your area of choice or pursue a position as a general pharmacy practitioner or adjunct faculty member in a pharmacy college.

Current and past residents of our PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency hail from diverse backgrounds. Learn more about our residents.
