Assistant Professor, Department of Radiology
I am Assistant Professor at the Center for Biomedical Imaging (CBI) of the Department of Radiology, NYU Grossman School of Medicine. My research is focused equally on both MRI technology development and clinical applications. I have a broad research interest including MRI pulse sequence development for non-Cartesian data acquisition and image recon, including spiral and TPI at ultrashort echo time (UTE), with one U.S. patent for UTE spiral imaging and three pending for approval. The two pulse sequences work for both proton (1H) and sodium (23Na) MRI, and were delivered to 15+ research sites around the world. My clinical research includes assessment of early osteoarthritis (OA) in the knee, early treatment response of cancers in the brain, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) clearance in Alzheimer’s disease (AD), and wearable device development for blood glucose monitoring. Recently, my interest is extended to quantum sensing/computing for MRI. I am a reviewer of manuscripts for scientific journals (e.g., MRM and JMRI) and grants applications for NIH. I also served as committee member of the ISMRM subcommittee for Young Investigator Awards 2016–2019. I was a key member of the team winning a major AAOS award for outstanding orthopaedic research in 2019. I have BS in physics, MS in geophysics, and PhD in Biomedical Engineering (specially in MRI).
