Fourth Annual Non-Tuberculous Mycobacteria (NTM) Symposium Held at NYU School of Medicine

Hosted by the DivisionĀ of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, November 17, 2015

The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine hosted the fourth annual Non-Tuberculous Mycobacteria (NTM) Symposium at NYU Langone Medical Center on November 17, 2015. This CME-accredited event, generously supported by Marc Chelnik in honor of Harriette and Martin Chelnik, brought together both nationally recognized and NYU NTM experts.

Led by NYU Faculty members, Dr. Doreen Addrizzo-Harris, Dr. David Kamelhar and Dr. Ashwin Basavaraj, the Symposium provided an overview and update on the epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, management and treatment of NTM and bronchiectasis. Speakers highlighted the biological sources of NTM in conjunction with presentations current methods of treatment and the impact of the disease outside of the lungs. Poster presentations were also displayed throughout the symposium, focusing on complex NTM cases and the latest developments in research.

The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine also wishes to thank Sandra Pearl for her support.
