Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology Research
In NYU Langone’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, our research mission is to improve the health of women, children, and families. We do this through rigorous and relevant research that advances knowledge, collaboration with other departments, and training new clinician–scientists.
Our researchers conduct behavioral and population health studies, translational laboratory research, and clinical trials to improve fetal health and the care of women during their reproductive years, through menopause, and beyond. Areas that we study include prenatal care, pregnancy outcomes, contraception, sexual trauma, amniotic fluid stem cells, neuroendocrinology, and physician wellness, as well as gynecologic conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome and ovarian, cervical, and uterine cancers.
We publish our research findings in a variety of peer-reviewed medical journals, such as the New England Journal of Medicine, the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Journal of Clinical Oncology, the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics, Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy, Fertility and Sterility, and Menopause. We present our data at national meetings of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Gynecologic Oncology Conference, and the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, among others.
