Radiologist Spotlight

Andrew Rosenkrantz, MD is Associate Professor of Radiology and Urology, Director of Prostate Imaging, and Associate Director of the Body MRI fellowship, in the abdominal imaging section at NYU Langone Medical Center.  He completed his residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center, serving as chief resident and receiving the RSNA Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award, and a fellowship in Body MRI at NYU Langone Medical Center, receiving the Fellow of the Year Award for Excellence in Teaching.  Since joining the faculty at NYU in 2009, Dr. Rosenkrantz’s primary research focus has been in prostate MRI, including the optimization and application of MRI for improving targeted prostate biopsy and risk assessment.  He has published extensively and has been invited to speak at numerous national meetings relating to prostate imaging.

This work has been recognized with research awards from the Society of Uroradiology, Society of Abdominal Radiology, and the Society of Computed Body Tomography & Magnetic Resonance.  He currently serves as co-chair of the Society of Abdominal Radiology’s Prostate Cancer Disease Focus Panel, Assistant Editor for the Genito-Urinary section of the American Journal of Roentgenology, as well as a member of the American Board of Radiology’s Urinary Imaging Core Examination Committee.  In addition, he has served on Scientific Program committees for the Radiologic Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, and Society of Abdominal Radiology.
