Lee Lab Funding
Our research efforts would not be possible without the generous support provided by our funding partners. We offer them our sincere thanks.
NIH National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA)
The NIDA mission is to advance science on the causes and consequences of drug use and addiction and to apply that knowledge to improve individual and public health. This involves strategically supporting and conducting basic and clinical research on drug use (including nicotine), its consequences, and the underlying neurobiological, behavioral, and social mechanisms involved. Our mission extends to ensuring the effective translation, implementation, and dissemination of scientific research findings to improve the prevention and treatment of substance use disorders and enhance public awareness of addiction as a brain disorder.
NIH HEAL InitiativeSM
The Helping to End Addiction Long-termSM Initiative, is an aggressive, trans-agency effort to speed scientific solutions to stem the national opioid public health crisis. The initiative is funding hundreds of projects nationwide.
The Justice Community Opioid Innovation Network (JCOIN) is supported by the NIH HEAL InitiativeSM. Our research study, an analysis of long-acting buprenorphine versus naltrexone opioid treatments in CJS-involved adults (EXIT-CJS), is part of the JCOIN network.
NIH National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism
NIAAA’s mission is to generate and disseminate fundamental knowledge about the effects of alcohol on health and wellbeing and apply that knowledge to improve diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of alcohol-related problems, including alcohol use disorder, across the lifespan.
NIAAA provides leadership in the national effort to reduce alcohol-related problems in the following areas:
- conducting and supporting alcohol-related research in a wide range of scientific areas including genetics, neuroscience, epidemiology, prevention, and treatment
- coordinating and collaborating with other research institutes and Federal Programs on alcohol-related issues
- collaborating with international, national, state, and local institutions, organizations, agencies, and programs engaged in alcohol-related work
- translating and disseminating research findings to health care providers, researchers, policymakers, and the public
