CEDER Annual Meetings
The National Center for Engagement in Diabetes Research (CEDER) hosts annual meetings that bring researchers, clinicians, and academic and community partners from across the nation together. The goal for CEDER is to incorporate the key discussions and themes that are highlighted in these sessions and build upon their strategies.
2024 Annual Meeting
CEDER held its first annual meeting at the National Institutes of Health headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland, on September 18–19, 2024, hosted by NYU Grossman School of Medicine, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and The University of California, Los Angeles. Participants discussed strategies to address diabetes inequities, the vision of collaborative research for long-term partnerships, and the future and goals of CEDER.
Key themes and takeaways from the panels included strategies for building trust, understanding community values and cultural safety, ensuring research includes community-driven benefits and perspectives, and strategies for building equitable partnerships between academic institutions and community organizations.
