Congenital Heart Program
The Congenital Heart Program at NYU Langone Health provides babies, children, and adults with compassionate medical care for known or suspected congenital heart defects.
Our cardiac surgeons work with cardiologists and pediatricians to diagnose and treat a wide range of congenital heart defects using the latest therapies. Each year, we perform about 200 cardiac operations to treat conditions including atrial and ventricular septal defects, pulmonary and aortic valve stenosis, tetralogy of Fallot, patent ductus arteriosus, coarctation of the aorta, Ebstein’s anomaly, and Fontan circulation.
Investigators in our program research implantable cardiac devices, new surgical techniques and medications, comorbidities that are common with congenital heart conditions, and more to help us diagnose and treat these defects.
Our faculty train fellows and residents in congenital heart research and patient care.
