Department of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Clinical Services
At NYU Langone’s Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, our diverse team of health professionals provides a wide range of mental health services for children, adolescents, young adults, and families in the New York metropolitan area.
Our psychiatrists, psychologists, neuropsychologists, social workers, and nurse practitioners are leaders in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry. Through our Pediatric Psychiatry Consultation–Liaison Service and Integrated Behavioral Health Program, we provide clinical services, consultations, education, and program expertise across the continuum of care at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone and other NYU Langone sites. These include the Child Study Center, Fink Children’s Ambulatory Care Center, Tisch Hospital, NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital, Kimmel Pavilion, NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, and the Family Health Centers at NYU Langone.
We provide care for children and families in multiple settings, including inpatient and outpatient clinics, hospitals, schools, the juvenile justice system, and child welfare programs.
At the Child Study Center, we deliver evidence-based care to improve the quality of life for children, adolescents, and young adults with a variety of behavioral, developmental, and emotional health needs. We provide clinical services at three convenient locations in Manhattan, New Jersey, and Long Island, and provide home- and school-based services in Westchester County.
We offer various treatments through the Anita Saltz Institute for Anxiety and Mood Disorders; the Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Behavior Disorders Service; the Autism Spectrum Disorder Service; the Tics, Tourette Disorder, and Trichotillomania Program; the Stress, Trauma, and Resilience Treatment Service; and the Child and Adolescent Sleep Service. We offer gender-affirming care for transgender and gender-expansive youth at our Gender and Sexuality Service.
At NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, we provide mental and behavioral health services for children and adolescents in diverse neighborhoods through the Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, one of the largest Federally Qualified Health Center networks in the nation. Here, our psychiatrists, psychologists, and behavioral health social workers offer comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and ongoing collaborative treatment.
Our child psychiatry emergency department and inpatient units at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue—the only 24-hour Children’s Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program in New York state—are a model of care for children and families in crisis.
We have also partnered with psychiatric facilities and school-based programs in rural areas of New York state. Using telepsychiatry, we can connect patients in these communities to remote clinicians via live interactive videoconferencing.
