Dermatology HEALTH EQUITY Clerkship Award for Medical Students
The Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology is dedicated to improving health outcomes within all populations in the field of dermatology. In support of this effort, we allocate funds on a yearly basis to third- and fourth-year medical students interested in diagnosing and treating medical conditions that that are more common in pigmented skin and textured hair (e.g. Central centrifugal cicatrical alopecia, sarcoidosis, etc.) and improving health outcomes. All students are welcome to apply.
Annually, the department’s Committee on Health Equity and Inclusion awards up to two $2,000 scholarships to deserving medical students.
To be eligible to receive the scholarship, you must be accepted as a rotating medical student in our regular four-week elective clerkship, be a U.S. citizen from an accredited U.S. allopathic medical school, be in good standing academically, and complete the elective clerkship.
Applicants are selected based on merit, scholarship, and need. Funds are to be used to subsidize the cost of travel and housing in New York City.
