About the Department of Orthopedic Surgery Orthopedic Surgery Alumni

Orthopedic Surgery Alumni

NYU Langone’s Department of Orthopedic Surgery is proud to be the home of the NYU Langone Hospital for Joint Diseases Alumni Association, with a diverse membership of more than 900 talented orthopedic physicians. We work to connect our alumni with the department and each other, to provide valuable alumni assistance, and to support the department’s mission of teaching, research, and service. As an alumnus, you have opportunities to participate in various events.

Our Leadership

The leadership of our alumni association is composed of alumni from different graduating classes. The board of trustees and officers provide and approve guidance to members and approve any changes to the association’s bylaws. They meet both in person and via conference calls throughout the academic year to discuss matters such as event planning, social media initiatives, and fundraising. If you are interested in serving in a leadership role, please email nyuorthoalumni@nyulangone.org.

Our History

The current alumni association formed in 1997 with the merger of the departments of orthopedic surgery at the Hospital for Joint Diseases (now NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital) and NYU Medical Center (now NYU Langone Health). Alumni trained at either institution are considered members of the NYU Langone Hospital for Joint Diseases Alumni Association. Graduates of our residency and fellowship programs are also welcome as members. Current faculty members are members of the association as well, even if they did not attend one of our graduate medical education programs.
