Inpatient Psychiatry at Tisch Hospital

Our doctors work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide inpatient psychiatry treatment at NYU Langone’s Tisch Hospital, including psychopharmacology and psychotherapy for mood, personality, and psychotic disorders. In addition, our clinicians offer electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) to help manage severe mood disorders.

Inpatient Psychiatry Unit at the Health Care Center

Experts in the inpatient psychiatry unit in the Health Care Center, known as HCC, at NYU Langone Medical Center treat only patients who are admitted voluntarily. Our interdisciplinary teams offer psychiatric care to older adults and people with co-occurring medical or neuropsychiatric conditions. Psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, and ECT are some of the available approaches to treatment.

Psychiatry Consult at the Ronald O. Perelman Center for Emergency Services

Our faculty offer psychiatry consults to individuals admitted to the Ronald O. Perelman Center for Emergency Services, located within Tisch Hospital, to evaluate patients who are in acute crisis. These evaluations may result in recommendations for inpatient or outpatient psychiatric care.

Consultation–Liaison Service at NYU Langone

Consultation–Liaison Service at NYU Langone provides psychiatric consultation to all inpatient medical and surgical units of Tisch Hospital and Kimmel Pavilion, as well as to Rusk Rehabilitation. Treatment areas include substance use disorders, transplant evaluation, reproductive medicine, general psychiatry, capacity evaluations, catatonia, psychiatric manifestations of medical illness, and the clinical management of delirium.

NYU Langone Psychiatry Associates

At NYU Langone Psychiatry Associates, our psychiatrists and psychologists provide personalized, evidence-based outpatient treatment for a wide range of mental and behavioral health conditions in adults. We also offer comprehensive specialized programs in mood disorders, including bipolar disorder and treatment-resistant depression, adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, reproductive psychiatry, adult eating disorders, mood disorders, human sexuality, trauma, and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).

Steven A. Cohen Military Family Center

The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Center provides free mental health services for veterans and their families. Our psychiatrists, psychologists, and other therapists offer evidence-based individual, couples, family, and child psychotherapy. Post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, depression, and anxiety are some of the conditions we treat.

Mental health providers at NYU Langone’s Steven and Alexandra Cohen Veterans Center for the Study of Post-Traumatic Stress and Traumatic Brain Injury conduct research to improve the detection and treatment of these conditions in veterans and active duty service members.
