About the Transplant Institute

NYU Langone established the Transplant Institute in March 2016. Led by internationally renowned surgeon Robert A. Montgomery, MD, DPhil, FACS, who is also chair of the Department of Surgery, the institute’s mission is threefold:
- to perform an increasing number of solid organ and bone marrow transplants while delivering superior patient-centered, personalized care
- to conduct innovative research that advances the field
- to educate future leaders in transplantation medicine
Our team of specialists provides exceptional clinical care and includes transplant surgeons and transplant physicians who specialize in hematologic malignancies, hepatology, nephrology, cardiology, endocrinology, infectious diseases, pulmonology, radiology, and plastic, thoracic, and abdominal surgery.
