Transplant Institute Education

At NYU Langone’s Transplant Institute, we’re committed to training the next generation of transplant physicians.
As a fellow in our program, you train with nationally and internationally recognized physicians and researchers and get clinical experience treating one of the most diverse patient populations in the country.
Fellows gain experience in our transplant unit, a fully combined medical and surgical unit with surgeons and physicians working closely together throughout all phases of patient care. During your time here, you work with our dedicated inpatient and outpatient nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, nutritionists, and social workers.
Fellows may pursue advanced training through one of three programs:
- the Advanced Fellowship in Transplant Hepatology, overseen by Saikiran M. Kilaru, MD , and administered through the Department of Medicine’s Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology
- the Transplant Surgery Fellowship, overseen by Jonathan C. Berger , MD
- the Transplant Nephrology Fellowship, overseen by Vasishta Tatapudi, MD
Each of our fellowships provides you with the training and experience to further your career—and the field of transplantation medicine.
