Diversity Clerkship Award

The Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at NYU Langone Medical Center is dedicated to increasing diversity within its department and the field of dermatology.  In support of this effort, the Department allocates funds on a yearly basis to third and fourth year medical students from groups underrepresented in medicine as defined by the AAMC (includes African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Native Americans) who are interested in doing a dermatology elective at NYU.

  • Annually, the Department Committee on Diversity and Inclusion will award up to two $2,000 scholarships to deserving medical students.
  • Applicants should first apply for a Dermatology rotation via the NYU School of Medicine registrar at www.med.nyu.edu/dermatology/education/medical-student-elective and then download the Diversity Scholarship Application. Instructions on submission and contact information are included in the application.
  • In order to receive the scholarship, the applicant must be accepted as a rotating medical student in a regular 4 week rotation, be a US citizen from an accredited US allopathic medical school, be in good standing academically, and complete the clerkship.
  • Applicants will be selected based on merit, scholarship and need.
  • Funds are to be used to subsidize the cost of travel and housing in New York City.

At the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology, we believe in setting the standards of excellence and we welcome you to join our team!
