Division of Translational Medicine

The application of discoveries in the laboratory, the clinic, or the community to the improvement of the health and wellbeing of the population as a whole is the mission of the Division of Translational Medicine at NYU Langone Health.

The interests of the members of the Division of Translational Medicine are broad and include the development of new treatments to promote wound healing and prevent fibrosis and scarring, the deciphering of the mechanism of action of the most commonly used anti-inflammatory drugs (including methotrexate and colchicine), the molecular mechanisms of uterine cancer, the molecular basis for alcoholic liver disease, and the role of purines in regulating bone metabolism. Other members of the Division develop novel algorithms for the computerized analysis of large datasets.

While encompassing diverse interests our goal is to transform the results of our research efforts into new advances in human health.
