Health And… Racial Equity and Urban Well-Being

This spring, the Department of Population Health at NYU School of Medicine will host the second annual “Health And…” Conference on Monday, May, 22, 2017, from 8:30 AM to 4 PM at Vanderbilt Hall on 40 Washington Square South. Breakfast and lunch will be served.

This year’s conference will focus on Racial Equity and Urban Well-Being, with speakers and participants exploring challenges and illuminating opportunities and promising strategies for advancing health equity and community well-being. Speakers include:

    • Keynote: Healthcare and public health approaches to addressing racism
  • Tom Frieden, MD, MPH, former Director, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

The Health And... Series

With the goal of translating research into action to improve urban population health, the “Health And…” Conference series brings together leading investigators, policymakers, practitioners, and community leaders who work at the intersection of health and its many determinants. Throughout the day, we highlight the latest findings, identify front-line innovations, develop pressing questions to investigate, and define promising policies and partnerships in order to advance population health and health equity.
