Emergency Radiology

Emergency Radiology is a sub-specialty of radiology that specializes in the diagnosis of the acutely ill or traumatized patient in the Emergency Department setting. By utilizing multiple imaging modalities, including multi-detector CT, MRI, Ultrasound and X-ray, emergency radiology plays a vital role in the timely diagnosis and management of emergency patients from head to toe.

The Emergency Radiology division of NYU Langone Medical Center provides comprehensive imaging at both the newly-constructed state-of-the-art Ronald O. Perelman Center for Emergency Services at Tisch Hospital and at Bellevue Hospital, South Manhattan’s level 1 trauma center. The emergency radiology reading rooms are physically located within the ER to allow us to provide the most accessible, rapid, and interactive service possible.
