Pediatric Imaging

The Pediatric Radiology Division of the NYU Langone Medical Center Department of Radiology is dedicated to providing comprehensive diagnostic body and musculoskeletal imaging of children from infancy through adolescence in a safe and nurturing environment. Our highly experienced staff of fellowship trained, board certified pediatric radiologists provides clinical services to inpatients and outpatients at Tisch Hospital, Hospital for Joint Disease, Bellevue Hospital and outpatients within our multiple faculty practice sites.

We offer a full range of imaging modalities, including conventional radiography, ultrasonography, fluoroscopy (ie. voiding cystourethrograms, esophagrams, upper GI series, video swallow studies and contrast enemas), computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Our equipment is among the most technologically advanced in the country with state-of-the-art high-resolution MRI and ultrafast multidetector CT. Our leading edge CT scanners have minimized the need for pediatric sedation and allowed for a significant decrease in radiation dose. Additionally, we routinely collaborate with the Nuclear Medicine Division in the performance and interpretation of PET (positron emission tomography) MRI, a revolutionary imaging modality.

Our specialty-trained staff is world-renowned in the field of pediatric imaging, publishing in prestigious peer-reviewed journals and lecturing at national meetings. Research within the Pediatric Radiology Division focuses on improving techniques in pediatric cross-sectional imaging and reducing the dose of ionizing radiation. We are committed to ongoing practice improvement to assure the safest and most accurate diagnostic imaging services.
