About the Meta-Research Collaborative

NYU Langone’s Meta-Research Collaborative is a research lab and collaborative network.

Our Research Lab

Our research lab is directed by Gregory Laynor, PhD, MLS, and Elizabeth Stevens, PhD, MPH, faculty at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Our research team and affiliated researchers conduct meta-research focused on research organization, incentives, and methods.

In addition to our own research projects, we collaborate with researchers, administrators, and staff across the institution interested in “research on research” to help improve research practices and policies. We are always looking to expand our work and establish new connections internally and externally. Our current work is supported by federally sponsored grants and enterprise innovation initiatives.

Within our research team we maintain an Evidence Synthesis Resource with expertise in methods such as systematic reviews and scoping reviews, bibliometrics and scientometrics, and the implementation of AI in evidence synthesis.

Our Meta-Research Collaborative Network

NYU Langone’s Meta-Research Collaborative network is a consortium of those conducting or interested in meta-research. The network seeks to create connections between fields, break down research and administrative silos, identify research opportunities, and disseminate the meta-research being performed at NYU. Our network includes researchers, administrators, staff, students, clinicians, content experts, and other stakeholders who represent individuals and groups within the NYU community who engage with meta-research in a variety of forms.
