Meta-Research Collaborative Network
NYU Langone’s Meta-Research Collaborative network is a cross-campus consortium of NYU community members interested in conducting meta-research and implementing its insights. Our unique, interdisciplinary group brings together a wide range of backgrounds including researchers, administrators, clinicians, staff, students, and other stakeholders who represent individuals and groups within the NYU community who engage with meta-research in a variety of forms.
Our Meta-Research Collaborative network strives to create a space to foster interdisciplinary collaboration by creating connections between fields and breaking down research and administrative silos. For this reason, while based within the NYU Grossman School of Medicine, the Collaborative network seeks to encompass members from the entire NYU community, serve as a resource for all NYU schools and colleges, and connect the NYU meta-research community to the broader international metascience movement.
Through a variety of activities and initiatives, the Meta-Research Collaborative aims to:
- bring together those with a shared interest in meta-research to foster community and learn from one another
- encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, identify research opportunities, and tear down silos that limit the impact of meta-research
- promote meta-research awareness and disseminate the meta-research work being done at NYU
- connect members to resources for conducting and implementing meta-research
- cultivate the next generation of meta-researchers
Through both in-person and virtual events, the Meta-Research Collaborative provides opportunities to engage in a meta-research focused community. The collaborative distributes a network newsletter highlighting upcoming events, mentorship opportunities, and research updates about new and ongoing meta-research projects.
If you are interested in joining the Meta-Research Collaborative you can complete our new member enrollment form. to be included on our mailing list and receive updates about upcoming events and initiatives.
Meta-Research Collaborative Events
The Meta-Research Collaborative hosts several events throughout the year.
Annual Meta-Research Symposium
The Meta-Research Collaborative and NYU Langone’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute host an annual Meta-Research Symposium, where we explore the critical role of meta-research (research on research) and translational science in shaping the future of science and improving research practices. The next symposium will be in fall of 2026.
Meta-Research Seminar Series
The Meta-Research Seminar Series features speakers both internal and external to NYU to highlight various topics in meta-research. The seminar series will cover a diverse range of meta-research topics from research project findings to bigger picture speakers. If you have ideas for future speakers you’d like to see for this series, or have research you would like to present, please reach out to metaresearch@nyulangone.org to share your ideas.
