Marie Bragg, MS, MPhil, PhD, Director of Research Community Development

Dr. Marie Bragg serves as the Director of Research Community Development in the Office of Science and Research and an Associate Professor in the Department of Population Health at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. She collaborates with NYU Langone’s Workplace Culture and Inclusion teams, the Vilcek Institute of Graduate Biomedical Sciences, the postdoctoral program, and various research departments to develop and implement programs that strengthen mentorship, professional development, and engagement across the research enterprise. Dr. Bragg leads initiatives that advance recruitment, retention, and faculty development while tracking progress toward institutional goals. She also oversees faculty mentoring programs and directs professional development workshops that foster collaboration, leadership, and a supportive research community. Brittany Edghill, MPA, Program Manager, Research Community Development

Ms. Edghill manages strategic initiatives that advance pathway programs, mentorship, and professional development within the Office of Science and Research at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. She directs the NYU Langone Federal Work-Study Program, which expands undergraduate access to research and fosters meaningful connections between students and faculty. Ms. Edghill collaborates with stakeholders across the institution to design curricula, outreach strategies, and evaluation metrics that enhance engagement and promote skill-building for research teams. Arthee Jahangir, PhD, Director of Postdoctoral Affairs and Research Community Development

Dr. Jahangir is responsible for career development, strategy, and community building for postdoctoral fellows at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. She leads several key initiatives like What Can You Be with a PhD?, showcasing diverse career paths through alumni discussions for graduate students and postdocs. She also directs NYU WILD (Women's Intensive Leadership Development Program), which cultivates leadership and teamwork through wilderness-based expedition challenges, and the Scholar to Faculty Pathway program, preparing exceptional postdoctoral fellows for future faculty roles. Fanta Sissoko, MS, Program Manager

Fanta supports student engagement, development, and outreach at the Vilcek Institute of Graduate Biomedical Sciences. She advances the academic, professional, and community success of graduate students by designing and leading initiatives that foster well-being, leadership, and belonging. Fanta developed and leads the Vilcek Institute’s coaching program and provides strategic oversight for student organizations and community-building efforts. She also supports recruitment and pathway programs that expand access and representation in biomedical research and education. Through collaboration with students and institutional partners, Fanta helps cultivate a supportive, inclusive, and thriving student experience aligned with NYU’s mission.
